The offices of Alumni and Student Engagement and Professional Development are offering a new one-credit course this spring semester - PDP 300: The Entrepreneur in You. We are inviting current students, Franklin College alumni, and community members to participate. You are welcome to register for course credit, audit the course, or simply attend the course sessions.
The course meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 at 66 Water Street in Franklin. Sessions begin on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, and end Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Course Description:
Do you have a creative idea you have always wanted to market? Does
the idea of owning and managing your own business excite you? . . . and yet,
you have no idea where to begin as an entrepreneur. This course will introduce participants
to the basic steps
necessary for beginning and sustaining a successful business. Participants will
create their own business plans and will meet
weekly with regional and local small business owners and professionals.
Topics will include, but are not limited to, business plan development, human
resources, marketing, financial support, and sustainability.
Come to hear best practices from those
who have succeeded in starting and running their own businesses. Learn
about the resources available to entrepreneurs. In order to receive credit for
the course, participants will be expected to create their own business plan. Graded: pass/fail.
